Mr. Taylor, the director of Sharp Grossmont Hospital for the past eight years, has seen the facility gain national recognition
LA MESA, CA, September 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian Taylor, Director of Ambulatory, Rehabilitation, and Pulmonary Services Sharp Grossmont Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care administration.
Recognized for his expertise in health care operations management and process improvement, Mr. Taylor was named the director of ambulatory services Sharp Grossmont Hospital after initially being hired as a manager. He holds a vast amount of responsibility, including the oversight of the David and Donna Long Center for cancer treatment, the ambulatory infusion center, the wound healing center, hyperbaric medicine, pulmonary services', sleep disorder center and the hand clinic. He also provides direction to oncology administration and the cancer registry data center, vascular access services, rehabilitative physical therapy services, and occupational, recreational and speech therapy services.
Mr. Taylor's career in health care stretches across four companies and nearly four decades. Starting in 1975, he worked his way up through Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, Calif., from staff respiratory therapist to department administrator. He then transferred to a position as a medical facilities administrator in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Taylor next took a position with Humana, subsequently moving into upper management positions with Greater Fort Lauderdale Heart Group and Lufthansa Service Group.
Mr. Taylor holds an impressive number of degrees and certifications. These include a bachelor's degree in business administration and two master's degrees, one in human behavior and the other in business administration, all from National University. Mr. Taylor is also a registered respiratory therapist, respiratory therapy technician, hyperbaric technologist and Six Sigma green belt. Moreover, he is a licensed vocational nurse, and holds a certification in health care management from the American College of Healthcare Executives, of which he is a fellow. He shares his knowledge with other health care professionals as a member of the board of examiners of the state of Kentucky's Quality Council and a board member of the San Diego Organization of Healthcare Leaders. Recently, he has been awarded three Center of Recognized Excellence Team Awards for Quality, Growth, and Service for the Frontline Nursing Leadership Program, the TomoTherapy Program, and the National Accrediation Program for Breast Centers at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
