Miles For Hope Predicts $100K in Donations From Annual Fundraiser For Brain Tumor Research
Miles For Hope expects to raise $100k from its fourth annual Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor Cycle/Run/Walk event for cutting-edge research
CLEARWATER, FL, June 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Miles For Hope, Inc. will hold its fourth annual Moving Towards a Cure Clearwater Brain Tumor Awareness Cycle/Run/Walk on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 7:15 am at Coachman Park in Clearwater, FL. The event is expected to raise over $100,000 to fund brain tumor research and provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients. Over 1200 supporters are expected to participate in the event.
"It has been quite frustrating to see the same vaccine that saved my life, and the lives of others, unavailable to those battling this devastating disease," says Bob Gibbs, founder of Miles for Hope and seven-year brain tumor survivor. "We can ensure that more people have access to the same treatment that helped save my life by raising the bar in our fundraising efforts." Gibbs has been featured on NBC Extra! and in Contemporary Oncology for his perseverance in finding a safe and effective cure for brain tumors.
The event is open to all ages. Same-day registration is at 6 am. Visit www.MIlesForHope.org for event times. Registration fees for adults are: 5K Run/Walk - $25, 1 mile - $20, Cycle race - $35. Fees increase $5 after September 9. Registration is free for children under 6 years. Supporters can participate individually or form a team. Post-event celebration to follow the race and includes an award presentation to remember those battling brain tumor disease as well as those who lost their battle.
