Miles For Hope, Inc. Hosts Brain Tumor Awareness Walk in Atlanta to Raise Awareness and Fund Research
Miles For Hope, Inc. holds its Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run to raise funds for research and transportation assistance to brain tumor patients

CLEARWATER, FL, May 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Miles For Hope, Inc. will hold its Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 8 am at Wade Walker Park in Stone Mountain, GA. Proceeds will fund brain tumor research and provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients.

"It has been quite frustrating to see the same vaccine that saved my life, and the lives of others, unavailable to those battling this devastating disease," says Bob Gibbs, founder of Miles for Hope and a seven-year brain tumor survivor. "As an organization, we want to ensure that more people have access to the same treatment that helped save my life." Gibbs has been featured on NBC Extra! and in Contemporary Oncology for his perseverance in finding a safe and effective cure for brain tumors. Gibbs will also be featured on talk show, Focus Atlanta, on CW 69-TV on May 15th.

The event is open to all ages. Same-day registration is at 7 am, event begins at 8 am. Registration is $20 for adults until May 7, $25 after May 7. Registration is free for children under 5 years. Participants can walk/run individually or form a team. Post-event celebration to follow the race and includes an award presentation, remembering those battling brain tumor disease as well as those who lost their battle.
