Dan M. Iancu, MD, MSc, FCAP, FASCP Added to Exclusive Registry's Roster
Dr. Dan M. Iancu would like to advance circulating tumor cell technology
Buffalo, NY, February 9, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dan M. Iancu, MD, MSc, FCAP, FASCP, a Clinical Pathologist at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in multiple myeloma diagnosis and therapy monitoring, and tumor markers.
Dr. Dan M. Iancu's interest in laboratory medicine and clinical research currently sees him serving as Assistant Director, Laboratory Medicine, for Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and as Assistant Director, Clinical Laboratory for RPCI Amherst Center & Infusion Clinic. He is also an assistant professor of oncology. Dr. Iancu has experience in CellSearch technology designed to assess the prognostic and predictive value of circulating tumor cells (CTC) assay in metastatic breast, prostate and colorectal cancers.
Dr. Iancu's research interests include the value of Freelite tumor markers in the diagnosis and monitoring of intact immunoglobulin multiple myeloma patients and monitoring the efficacy of chemotherapy in biliary cancers using CellSearch technology CTC assay. Additional areas of research interest include integrating CTC biomarkers with imaging to monitor the effect of chemotherapy in order to create a combined tumor treatment response score. Other areas of expertise include special chemistry, clinical core laboratory, quality control and improvement. In the future, Dr. Iancu hopes to be on the forefront of laboratory medicine diagnosis and research. He would also like to advance circulating tumor cell technology and gain more knowledge in stem cell research.
Dr. Iancu completed a fellowship in Clinical Chemistry at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX and a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Winthrop-University Hospital, where he also completed his residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology. He earned his medical degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology,
A member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
