Dr. Michael J. Burke Recognized for Excellence in Health Care
Michael Burke, MD, has been recognized as one of the best doctors in America

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael J. Burke, MD, Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in hematology and oncology.

With seven years of field experience, Dr. Burke has worked as a pediatric hematologist and oncologist at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital for four years. In his position, he is responsible for supervising the pediatric hematology and oncology fellowship training program. He also treats patients, oversees clinical research, and writes and publishes manuscripts. During his career, he has developed an expertise in leukemia diagnosis, treatment and research. An associate of the Children's Oncology Group, he designs and supervises trials conducted on an international level. Currently, he is developing and implementing novel agents that focus on high-risk and relapse leukemia patients. He attributes his success to his commitment to treating children diagnosed with cancer.

In 2000, Dr. Burke received an MD from Ross University School of Medicine and in 1993, a bachelor's degree in biological science from the University of California Irvine. He completed a fellowship at the Children's Memorial Hospital and a pediatric residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Recognized as one of the best doctors in America, Dr. Burke is board-certified in pediatrics, and pediatric hematology and oncology. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and the American Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation. He is also affiliated with the Children's Cancer Research Fund in Minneapolis, Minn., and Catholic Charities USA. In the future, Dr. Burke will continue providing leadership to the pediatric leukemia community.
