Dr. Barbara A. Phillips Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Barbara A. Phillips aims to understand how astronauts are affected by entering space
MARINETTE, WI, November 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Barbara A. Phillips, Biological Psychologist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who as one of the top 14 members in her field for demonstration, forward-looking, inspiration, competence, courage, and the ability to remain passionate in spite of setbacks.
For the past eight years, Dr. Phillips has led a team of five Psychology Specialists and two Astrobiologists at NASA's shuttle and International Space Station. Dr. Phillips demonstrates the characteristics of leadership and excellence; she holds a system of beliefs about the struggle to be human, defying the verdict and achieving a contemporary organizational model.
Dr. Phillips has suffered from breast cancer as well as a severe form of leukemia over the course of her professional studies. She donated her body to leukemia research programs and continues to participate in their studies, despite her illness. As an intern, she taught students at the college level and visited veterans' hospitals for amputees arriving from Iraq and maintained a professional practice.
She attributes her success to the support and encouragement she received from her father, to serve others.
A graduate of the University of Green Bay, Wisconsin, she earned a competence based liberal arts degree with an emphasis in Psychology, a Ph.D. in Biological Psychology, Managerial Systems and Research Specialist from the University Consortium of the University of Wisconsin, Columbia University and Cambridge University.
She assisted in writing the handbook for the textbook, "The Leadership Challenge" by Kounzes and Posner, Santa Clara University. She was also employed as a Senior Accountant for Christensen, Roland and Johnson, CPA's as well as Enstrom Helicopter.
