The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation Wins 2010 HOPE Award for Practice Excellence in Patient Care
Compassionate and veteran oncology center receives accolade from Hematology & Oncology News & Issues Magazine

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Oncology Institute Of Hope and Innovation, the leader in providing state-of-the-art medical care and comprehensive cancer treatment was recently awarded the HOPE Award for Practice Excellence in Patient Care from Hematology & Oncology News & Issues Magazine. Dr. Richy Agajanian commented, "Our involvement is what set's us apart. The experience of cancer can be a scary and stressful one, so we try to make the patient experience as stress-free as possible".

Dr. Richy Agajanian began his practice with a small group of oncologists and soon saw the potential of branching out on his own. In August of 2007 he founded the Agajanian Institute of Oncology and Hematology and as the practice grew, he made a conscious decision to recruit oncologists/ hematologists displaying the same compassion and dedication as he did for his patients. His vision grew into the Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation (OIHI). Currently, the Institute has five locations in southern California with six board certified oncologists in addition to five oncology-certified nurse practitioners.

As experts in patient care, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation were also recognized for their exemplary internal clinical research department, through which 45 active clinical trials sponsored by different pharmaceutical companies are currently available, enabling their patients to stay within a two-to-three mile radius to continue care, virtually eliminating the need for patients to drive to outside facilities. Converting to a electronic medical records system was also acknowledged, as The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation handles patients records with greater accuracy, with no risk of the record being damaged or misplaced.

Offering programs to help patients and families cope with the challenges that are brought on by cancer and striving to optimize their quality of life, comprehensive and realistic treatment goals are tailored to every person's unique needs and decided upon in partnership with the patients and their families. The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation is dedicated to excellence in cancer prevention, diagnosis and education through their exceptional team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants and office staff, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation has five Southern California locations in the cities of Downey, Long Beach, Lynwood, Montebello and Whittier.
