Svetlana Ten, MD Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Pediatric Endocrinology


    /Cancer News Articles/ - BROOKLYN, NY, October 20, 2007 - Svetlana Ten, MD, a pediatrician for the Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn at Maimonides Hospital, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pediatric endocrinology.

With more than 20 years of experience in pediatrics, Ten has an impressive professional background. As a pediatrician of the Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn at Maimonides Hospital , she is responsible for treating patients with diabetes, thyroid and endocrine disorders, managing academic activities, overseeing direct supervision of medical residents and developing academic programs for College Hospital. Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn at Maimonides Hospital is a non-profit facility that houses pediatric endocrinology, anesthesiology, a blood donation center, cancer care, ear, nose and throat treatment, and emergency medicine, among other services.

Ten fulfilled her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology from Cornell University in 2002, her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology in Akita, Japan from 1992 to 1993 and her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Moscow State University in 1989. She received her MD from Belarus-Minsk Medical University in 1984. She is the fellowship program director of SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Ten is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Medical Association and the Richmond County Medical Society.
